60×365, Ten Years Later (part 4)

Week 4
Peanut Break (July 23, 2007)

After I finished 60×365, I had the good fortune to be interviewed by Robert Seigel of NPR’s All Things Considered, which aired on June 30, 2008. Among the people listening that evening was Rod Ziolkowski, a high school teacher from California. He wrote to me and asked if his students could use music from my project in videos that they were making in his class. I was thrilled to say yes. He generously brought me out to visit his class and to meet his student and see their projects.

Since then, I have adapted his original assignment and created a music video workshop that I do with high school students called Visual Poems. I’ve run this workshop at Dedham High School since 2010 and am planning to expand it to other schools this fall. This week’s selection, Peanut Break, was selected by one of Rod’s students who created this video:
